I'm looking for an LD player, preferably one of the following models:
    Pioneer Elite CLD-79
    Pioneer Elite CLD-59
    Pioneer CLD-704
But of course, I'll consider other models too. I need one with RF AC-3 and dual-sided play capability.
Please email me your model and asking price.
    Thanks!

    Robert:

Add the CLD-D505 to your list. prob the least expensive and audio is the same as the 704 and 1db less in s/n video ratio (50db) . these can be found for $150 or less. it has RF AC-3 and dual play too.

I was looking for the 704 too, but when I seen the prices I looked for something compareable. this unit is.

there is a 704 on ebay for $400 buy it now, right now.

    good luck.

    Hi Rob,

I think I have an extra Elite 99. I am in Alabama right now and wont be back to Maine until the 18th. Email me then if interested.

    Gregg

PS: I think the video on the 505 vs the 79 / 704 vs the 99 is hugely different.

I don't have experience with these players as im new to it. but by specs I thought it was a good choice for the price. I watch my stuff on a 27' tv and I'll say this player looks great and much better than the Panasonic LX-101U I bought and then sold as it was junk!

Yeah, the D505, although a good player, isn't in the same league as the D704, 79, 99. The 59, though a decent player, isn't that great considering how much they usually cost.

    $400 for a D704 is very good.

can you explain further ? I see the specs on the 704 and 505 are 1 db difference in s/n video ratio and the audio is the same. what is it that makes the 704 better ? I'd love to know cause if its that much of a difference in picture quality ill pick up the 704.

well ? guess no one can say.......
