Last night I accidentally bought the PandS HP at walmart for 16 bucks. Got home, opened and then realized what I had bought. Got back in the car, drove up there to get the WS version. Went to customer service and she said your new total is $2.14, the WS was 2 dollars more than the FS. I was surprised that they were actually selling the WS for more than the full screen. Is this normal and I've just never noticed it?

It makes sense... the widescreen version includes more of the picture. [IMG]

Hmm, and some discs that sell for less give you BOTH versions!

Pan and Scan Discs should cost more than Letterbox. It cost the studios more money to Pan and Scan a movie.

OAR is also selling for more on Amazon. Maybe the prices are lower on the MAR'ed versions because they aren't selling as well. [IMG] [IMG]

It's an unpleasant practice for retailers to charge more for Widescreen when it shares the same SRP & presumably the same cost as it's MARred counterpart. It's unreasonable to do so. I'd drop a complaint at their website about it.

Sounds like you're Walmart is ripping you off. Mine had them both for $15.95 on release day and I think that they're both $19.95 now.

That's why I will never buy another DVD from Walmart ever! Take the clout away from them and maybe the studios won't listen to them.

My Wal-Mart was charging the same for both versions.
