A blind friend (36 yrs old and born blind) came over to my house tonight for the first time, and of course I had to audition my system for her. I let her pick out the mix; S. McLaughlin "Possession" (acoustic), "Hotel California" (DTS), P. Gabriel "In Your Eyes", C. Issac "Wicked Game", and L. McKennitt "The Old Ways"... in fact most of the album The Visit, my friend wouldn't let me change out the CD. She kept saying, "No, wait, leave it". Her comment? She was crying and said, "I've never heard music sound so beautiful". Given the source, I take that as very high praise (I almost got choked up myself). I also promised that she could come over and listen to my system any time she wants... next time, she said she'll bring over all of her favorite discs. Moral of the story? You never know how your life (and even hobbies) can influence others. Now go out and make a point of improving someone else's existance through this "endless waste of money" (quoting my ex-wife ) wherein most of us seem to be to be "trapped".
