A friend on ICQ just sent this to me:
    http://www.archive.org
you type in an address, then it lists out when the site was updated, and you click on the date to see the site how it was like on that date!
I tried HTF, but HTF didnt let it spider their site with robots or something. A few HTF sites do work though:
    http://web.archive.org/web/199812051...aterforum.com/
thats HTF on Dec. 5th, 1998. TOo bad cant go into any of the links, coz of the robot thingamajig or something.
    Lol, beginnings of Ebay:

    No Netflix retailer pages, but
Click Here and Save 50% off the Reel Top 100 DVDs!! [IMG]
Anybody know how this was arranged?
They've got one of my lame pages from '99, but the site was up since '95 and there's only the page from '99 listed.
Neat idea to keep this history alive.

    cool dude.
I went to www.dolby.com and here's one of the first things I read:
"Check out our new digital system, AC-3"
You can find some neat info on DPL too.
Later on, I'm gonna try some home theater magazine sites.
    Later,

No one has stolen any content or credited the wrong source. In the DVD Resource archive (which I wouldn't even know existed if not for this thread) the author's name and original URL is plastered all over the site. I would consider it flattering that one of my sites was considered important enough to the development of the Internet to have it archived...especially if I, the author, was justly credited and none of my content had been edited by a third-party.
Maybe you shouldn't have publicly displayed any web content if you didn't want anyone ever to see it.
Give the group some credit, they're just doing research.

The content of my site is my business--and I mean that in a business sense.

    Steve,

Archive.org is working on archiving the entire web. Wouldn't objecting to this be like saying that you will not permit a book you wrote to be in a public library? (which, AFAIK, you can't do.)

    I don't get it.

I have my own memory to remind me of the old HTF back around 1997. What I remember was one big board that was not broken down into the many areas we have now. In there were all the posts and all the responses as sub-posts. There used to be 2 or maybe 300 new posts per day.
