Well, at the price of around $2K, I would welcome all challengers to compete for my biz...
    Here are the Sunfire specs:
    Auto signal sensing input switching
Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro-logic decoding
Additional simulated surround modes convert stereo inputs into five or seven channels of output
FM/AM tuner with multipath and noise reduction circuitry
Five audio/video analog inputs, includes five s-video inputs
    Two wide-bandwidth component video inputs
    Four analog audio inputs
Six digital audio inputs: six coax and three optical
    One coax digital (S/PDIF) output
Phono stage with standard moving magnet input level for LPs
Balanced outputs for six main channels
    Five and seven channel surround
    Tone controls
    Dimensions: 19" wide, 6.5" high, 15.75" deep
    Two-year parts and labor warranty
I want a minimum of 5.1 channels, plus a minimum of 2 front balanced output and input channel channels option, plus an incredible 2 channel playback via this pre/pro
and a price to me which is comparable to the Sunfire unit.... email me via mailto:[email protected]

You forgot the most important thing.....sound quality. Allthose features are good, but I'd never use even a fraction of them. Give me just the features I need and high quality and accurate processing, and I'm a happy man. But that is impressive for it's price and features. But I'd suggest a listen before you proclaim it champ.

    The new Outlaw pre amp.
Even includes support for compatibles soundfields to 6.1/7.1 THX EX and DTS-ES for probably half the price.

I hope everyone noticed the question marks after the topic.
I already KNOW that I am buying an Outlaw 950. That's a given. I was just suprised that the Theater Grand had balanced outputs AND was a full featured HT processor. I sure wish that the Outlaw 950 had balanced outputs, but then again, what do you want for less than $900 bucks. Maybe the Outlaw 1950 pre/pro will have them at under $2K? [IMG]

I agree with you John. That is an impressive list of features for an incredible price.

I thought the Sunfire was a bit more expensive than that.
However, DPL2, 7.1 inputs, analog bypass, adjustable crossovers, EQ, parameter control, component switching etc might be nice.

a friend in the buis. once e-mailed me a comparative list of features on two differant cars, they looked very comporable but the price tags were VASTLY different...then at the bottom the one turned out to be a honda, the other a lotus.....Yeah, I like shopping from a feature list...when can I hear the two side by side with identical speaker set-ups? who has? can I come over your house ?
