I'm looking to buy my first HDTV and I've recently found a store which is selling the BenQ DV2680 for around 900 dollars Canadian. They are having a huge sale and I'd save around 500 dollars from the original price.

Here are the specs taken from benq.com (I'm not allowed to post URLS since I'm a new user):

I'm going to use this TV primarily for video games and for watching movies on DVD. I don't really know too much about high definition televisions, though I'm learning more and more everyday and I hope you guys can help me out. Would you guys recommend this TV? Thanks a lot!

Oh and the aspect ratio for this tv is 15:9. When watching wide screen movies, will that squish the image so much that it's noticeable?

I'd probably find something else with more screen size.

I don't have any exsperience with this display. If you can find something close to the price consider something that is x720 instead of x768 perhaps.

I'm weak on LCD direct views though in all honesty.

Well this TV will be going into a small room so 26 inches is more then enough. My only concern about this TV is that the manufacturer, BenQ, doesn't have such as big name compared to say, Sony or Samsung. Also, should I get a TV with HDMI or DVI?

I know this TV is on sale for an unbelievable price, but I don't want to get a bad tv. With these specs and a price tag of 900 bucks Canadian, is it worth it?

BenQ while maybe not a well known name in HDTV Displays, is a big name in LCD Computer monitors. I would not be to concerned.
