I wanted to get your guy's opinions on this.

    I'm looking at either the:

    SOny Wega KV-24FS100

    or the

    Panasonic CT-24SX12

What would you guys prefer? And Why?

Wega. Panasonics lately have been really skittish with power supply issues, ie. not turning off when you push the button, or even worse, not turning on. Sonys by comparison have been bulletproof.

Picture-wise, I prefer the Panasonics, but I've seen way too many bad Pannys lately to spend my own money on one. If you look at both of them and can't decide which one you like better, get the Sony,

One of the main reasons why I like the Panasonic is because it has more inputs and outputs than the Wega.

Plus, if I were to get either, I would get the extended warranty, so that wouldn't be an issue.

I just wanted to get people's opinion on these two tv's.

Where is the best place to get either one of these?

    I would get the panny.
Same reason I'm getting the toshiba.
The toshiba has had problems lately, but I like the Toshiba picture better than the Sony picture. I'm not spending money for safety, I'm spending money to get quality. If I get a lemon I'll exchange.

I have the Panny and like it. The only thing I miss from the WEGA, though, is the picture mode settings. It comes in really handy, especially when playing games that typically require a little more contrast. Otherwise, it's a fine set.

Here is another factor into the situation here:
I can get that 24" Wega for around $340.00. That would include the 3 year home service Circuit City warranty.
I can get the 24" Tau for around $550. That would include the 5 year home service GE warranty.
Which one is better now? [IMG]

I'd go with the Wega. You should be able to renew your Ciruit City plan after three years and still come in way under the $550 mark.

I have had very good luck with Sony Tv's. I have owned 7 and only one gave me a problem with it's power supply when it was 8 years old.

I recently had a TV repairman tell me that Sony uses modular power supplies now which can't be rebuilt.
if one goes out it is $90.00 just for the part.

He recommends Panasonic, Toshiba and JVC.
I had a JVC 10 plus years agoa nd constantly had probs with the power supply.
