Would there be a problem with a 12 foot digital optical cable? (1 Viewer)

Would there be sound degredation or anything like that? this would be from a DVD player to a receiver.

no problem running that length. optical does tend to be a more fragile than coax so i assume the cable will not be subjected to a 'rough' environment.

Well basically it would be sitting on the ground untouched. Maybe someday I'll have wirebridges. :) The 12' model from Acoustic Research is the only one I see that is as long as I need it. Thx for the reply.

well don't step on it. snap crackle pop you want to leave to your breakfast cereal. there was an older thread in the tweaks area concerning long lengths (25'?) with alternate sources. might want to look it up if what you really need is something else beside 12'.

fiber optic suffers a whole lot less problems than conductor type connections when it comes to length. but yeah, what ever you do, dont kink it to hard.

True. Too bad none of the cables call fiber optic are actually true f/o.
