With all the talk about a possible Indy 4 going round one has to accept the fact that Harrison Ford really is to old to play the role! Was wondering what people's opinions are if the role were recast and who would you see as being appropriate for the role?
After all James Bond, Batman and Jack Ryan have all been recast-- why not Indy?
P.S.
What about a recast Rambo? Chompin' at the bit for a new pic!

It's already been confirmed that Paul Rebuns will star in Rambo 4: Out of the Closet, Now! Rubens will star as Chris Rambo, John's long lost homo sexual son. In the script, writen by Sly and Richard Simmions, Chris Rambo has to break into his friends closet to steal back some beanie babies while confronting his father John about his sexuality, who now resides in a nursing home. Stallone has recently hinted on returning for a cameo after shooting Rocky 6: Ben Gay Strikes Back.

that's great!
On a serious note I think George Clooney would make a good Indiana Jones.

IMO, no and nobody. They should drop the idea of an Indy 4 if they cannot figure a way to use Ford in the lead role. If they were serious about doing another installment of the series then they should have done it a long, long time ago.

For the first time I'm starting to see why people who are older than me say that Sean Connery is the 'real' Bond. Harrison Ford has been Indy for as long as I can remember and any attempt to replace him wouldn't feel right.

If it's not Harrison Ford - It's not Indiana Jones, call it something else.

With Sean Patrick Flannery and no-one else.
Or, alternately, go the other way and have George Hall in "Indy's Very Last Adventure". :)

They should shit-can Indiana Jones 4 along with Back to the Future Part IV and the already shit-canned The Godfather Part IV. Nothing good could possibly come from these sequels. It's bad enough we had to suffer through such grim fourth-parters as Jaws: The Revenge, Batman & Robin, and Alien: Resurrection.
Make something original instead of recycling old hits into new bombs.

Harrison Ford was made for the Indie roll like Yul Brenner was for The King And I.

Couldn't they just do a "Passing the torch" film. I mean have Ford and the main star as Indy, but have another younger "worthy" star play his son (which he doesn't have, but hey, it's only an idea here) following in his footsteps. That just a though. I just want to the the Indy franchise die. It's one of my faves.

That was actually the idea I had for a fourth flick...but I never really did anything with it because I can't come up with a story beyond that.

Totally agree!! Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones in my opinion. I wish they would just write a script for an older Indy. I thought Sean Connery pulled off Indy's dad wonderfully, and he ain't no spring chicken.

David, I'm with, no, no and no too. There is no way. I think that if we pressed them, the studio would say that they have canned the idea.
And oh, as for part IV's, I can't wait for the next Beethoven!

Why don't they just decide not to make the movie if its going to cause this much fuss anyway? Fans won't want to see another Indy, but the existing one can't do it. Logical solution: don't make the movie.
I wouldn't mind seeing a new series started up in the same style of Indy and not actually calling it Indiana Jones.

Sean Patrick Flannery has turned "wimp" over the years. I lost all respect for him after he starred in that Michelle Gellar movie about food and love....
George Clooney is not bad considering that he was so terrible as such a straight "Batman". But, his turn in "O brother where are thou?" was impressive. However, he still has too many obstacles to overcome. Let's face it, it's Ford or no one.

No, it wouldn't work for me. And, they don't really need to do another one of these movies anyway, IMO.
