Wondering if anyone knew much about this model. I've heard the newer AG 1980s are excellent. I still tend to watch a lot of obscure and foreign titles on VHS and wouldn't mind spending a bit extra to get something that looks half decent on my new HD set.

Any comments/advice would be appreciated.

I've seen but never used one at the local Community TV studio. They look generally similar to the AG1980. I have an AG1980 and it's a great deck for playback or editing. It has a tuner and timer but has no VCR+, BTW. The 1980 was made for 5 years or more. So, the 1960 is pretty old...late 80's to early 90's. Can you try for the 1980? You may stille find brand new ones someplace?
