I am (still) worried about my choice TV so far. Thus far I have chosen the SONY WEGA 20FV300(20"). I have read reviews(CC) that it has geometry problems. How wide spread is this problem? Would it be a better idea to go with the equivalent Toshiba 20" flat screen?

On a side note what exactly does the speed/bit rating of a DVD player's DAC mean? I am getting a SONY NS715V DVD player which has a 12-bit/108mhz DAC. Will this give a good quality picture?

    i have the 24" wega...
    not bad...

but i am probably gonna switch to a panasonic tau. the 27" is the same dimensions, and has more inputs. plus i like the picture more.

  3. Overall, I'm happy with my 27" WEGA.

As with any TV, calibration makes all the difference.

But the WEGA line does seem to suffer from chronic convergence issues (based on other posts and my experiences).

My WEGA shows this weakness in the top and bottom lines on letterboxed/16x9 images.

Top and bottom lines break red on the left and blue to the right.

To my knowledge, there's no convergence mechanism on the 27" sets and below.

The Tau advertises 600 lines of resolution is this higher than the Tosh or Wega?
