I know that was incredible to outdraw the rockets with 3 7s.
I didn't watch the first hour of the show, but other than a couple of moments, this was kind of a lackluster Final 4 since the one Frenchman had such a massive chip lead over everyone else it was almost a foregone conclusion. I know the other French guy turned the tables for a second but it flipped right back and you knew there was so little time left in the show that it was all over.
Oh man, the format for the Aruba finals was so very bad.
Holding it outdoors, I couldn't tell if people's hands were shaking because they were nervous or if they were cold. And the initial amateur hand was quite boring, although there was a bit of interesting play between the two Finns.
I stayed awake through the professional round but couldn't stick with the amateur vs professional challenge. How did it turn out?
I fell asleep before it was over but Juha made some good moves Phil G. underestimated him and lost a number of chips trying to bluff.
I'm going to be in Vegas next week playing. What are the best casinos for Hold 'em? Binions? If I have time when I'm in LA I may hit The Bicycle too. I've only played at Ameristar in St. Louis and online.
Man, that was a pretty impressive match. Spoilers if you haven't seen it.
The final three players were all very good and brought a great variety to the game. The amateur player was perfectly playing and I don't think anyone would begrudge him a win. Barry, having that great charity backstory, was having an excellent seesaw battle with Randy right to the end.
One of the more memorable matches for certain, and one I enjoyed a great deal.
I don't think so. Your goal should be winning, at some point you have to make a play. You can't let the stronger players continue to take you out of hands. He had a strong hand and likely advantage pre-flop from his POV. Had he won, he would have virtually taken Greenstein out of the game (he would have had less than 100K) and been able to play heads up. I thought it was a strong and gutsy play not to allow himself to be taken out of the hand, it just didn't work out.
