I just thought I would share my excitement. Barring any disasters, I'll be placing my order for a PB2-ISD on October 1 (the wife finally gave me an order date [IMG]).

I have been researching and asking questions on this forum for quite some time now and it is finally coming to the end. SVS will definitely be getting my business.

    I can't wait!

I had read a few posts talking about AVS deleting threads. Why are they removing threads? Is it strictly related to SVS stuff? What is it about this thread that would cause them to delete it?

David Bott doesn't like "Woo-hoo I've just bought my SVS" type threads. I kinda get his point, although he also closes normal SVS discusion threads too, which shows something's funny going on.

If he is an HSU stockholder, that is pretty shameless of him. You can bet I'll never post over there. I don't care what the topic is about. If it is realated to the forum in question and it is not a vulgar message, it should never be removed.

As far as pointless threads taking up bandwidth goes, I hardly think that applies. Forums are about community. If a person can't post there regarding something exciting related to the forums topic, I believe they are missing out on a great part of what the forum has to offer. People post messages on forums and make friends there. Seems like a logical place to post a message such as this one.

Then again, maybe I just think that because I posted the message...

Guys, David runs his house as he sees fit.

Not everyone decorates their homes as you would, or runs a forum the same. It's a tough job and while SVS might not like seeing an enthusiastic SVS thread closed down there, it's an academic question. I don't think advertising or "Stockholding" has much if anything to do with it. Just a different way of running the house versus here.

No forum wants to have a reputation for bashing another either, and while I understand the point above, as an OEM I'm never comfortable when I see us the cause of friction like that.

    Tony,

I promise you will love your SVS, in fact, my job is to GUARANTEE it. ;^)

    Cheers,

    Ron

Honestly, I would also delete posts that say "I ordered such and such" or "I'm going to order...", because they are basically useless info. It's fine to give a little thumbs up to the many quality manufacturers such as SVS, but at the same time, I'd MUCH rather hear a review after you've been using it for a while than hearing about something you don't have yet.

I agree to a point, John, but sometimes you just have to share your joy. I have no family members or friends that are giddy about home theater stuff, so I can't brag to them. [IMG]

I'd like to order, I'm thinking of ordering, I hope to order but the wife said no...

    Where does it end?

I agree with those who've said this is a pointless thread that will live on because of its pointlessness.

Maybe, the AVS Forum should create a new slogan:

Not to be a snot about this or anything, but for all of you that are saying these threads are pointless, why do you continue to post in them?

It seems to me that if you don't like them, you shouldn't participate.

Again, I am not trying to be confrontational here. Just posting an observation.

I like the fact people are enthusiastic about new equipment and I enjoy reading these threads.

As far as Tony G saying his reason for threadcrapping is:

Who made you Sheriff? If you don't like a post, there's a button to 'report this post' to the Admins.
