I've got tickets to see Norah Jones next Sunday evening and I was wondering if anyone has had the chance to check out her live show yet.

I'm kinda excited about this one, I just hope I'm not in for a big let down.

My roommate is getting into her. He picked up a CD. I have yet to listen to it, though, but he really digs it.

IIRC, her stuff is on SACD? How are those discs?

NP: Wynton Marsalis, The London Concert, SACD

    Mike,
There has been much unofficial speculation that Norah Jones will be one of the first potential SACDs from Blue Note.
Nothing official yet, but I love her new album and it is a HUGE hit for Blue Note. I hope that it helps fund more classic jazz titles and that a second title from Norah is in the works.

    Mike,
I have a modest suggestion. Buy the always excellent magazine The Absolute Sound. I actually Bob Harley, the editor, about participating here but he responded that he was working 60-70 hours a week on the magazine. In any event, check out the Acoustic Sounds ad in the August/Sept. issue. It has a lot of vinyl reissues and these tend to eventually lead the way to SACD, at least recently. What's new on vinyl at APO?
Coleman Hawkins: Night Hawk (I like this one)
Thelonious Monk and Gerry Mulligan: Mulligan meets Monk
    Wes Montgomery: Full House
    John Coltrane: Soultrane
    plus many other quality titles.
Also, like blues? Get the new Van Morrison, it's fantastic (the sonics are a bit studio sounding but the performance is so good, I don't even care.

By the way, have you heard the latest on the Blue Note SACDs - I need to check their forum.
