Woofer on top of wall mounted flat screen? (1 Viewer)

I'm limited for room for the woofer. What effect, if any, would there be if I mounted it up near the ceiling? How about on one side or the other of the TV?

There are no issues except that it may not be the optimum location for the sub. Optimum location is room dependent so each and every one of us has to go through the trial and error of proper sub placement.

There are a LOT of people who install subs IN the ceiling like this.
