Why do two different studios release the same film?
I'm not sure of the details, but several years back, a lot of MGM films (almost the whole library, I think; at least the ones Turner owned) were turned over to Warner. So, a lot of MGM's classic films have been getting DVD releases from Warner (Oz, Ben-Hur, Dr. Zhivago, 2001, and many others). Kind of ironic, huh? :)
Of course, this also means that Casablanca has come full circle: released theatrically by Warners, on video from CBS/Fox (and its various incarnations), then MGM/UA, now Warner. :D Sorry, didn't mean to get off topic.

Singing in the Rain looks very good. They did not include the original sound on that one either, but at least they did not claim to do so on the packaging. I think the disc carries a "formatted to fit your screen" message, but don't panic, it is supposed to be full frame.

Regards,
