I'm going wireless for xbox live. I have a ethernet modem and card for the cpu. I ordered the Netgear wireless router and netgear access point. Just want to make sure I am hooking this up right when it all gets here:

    1. dsl phone line to ethernet modem
    2. connect modem to wireless router
    3. connect router to ethernet card in pc
    4. connect xbox to access point

is that it? seems easy enough.

Yup. The only real-life limitations for most people revolves around the money required to buy the stuff for it and the ability to get DSL.

My Xbox is connected to a Linksys WET11, with a Linksys BEFW11S4V2 connected to the cable modem. Wireless rocks man!

    Darn..too fast too soon...

mine has the linksys wireless router with a wet11. the wet11 converts the ethernet to wireless. Im pretty sure your netgear access point will work in theory, but I haven't really read up about anyone trying that. Let us know your results.

You might want to check Xbox.com/Live for the latest router compatability lists. Remember, not all routers are created equal and many have been found to be problematic when operating with an Xbox (dropping connections, etc.) - especially wireless models.

thanks, I figured out that the router will work, but that access point won't work. I will get the wet11. [IMG]
