I am fairly new to HT and am a little[IMG]so this question may sound dumb. On a 7.1 receiver you have a surround back R & L speaker terminal. But since I am using a 6.1 set-up I have only one rear speaker. Do I connect it to the back R or L? Any help here is appreciated.

Connect it to the L and tell the receiver you have only one rear center. That's how it generally works, at least.

Generally it is L, but do check in the manual about hardware setup, and/or the speaker setup. And set the SB Back to 1 speaker, very important.

If after setting it to 1 speaker and you still don't get sound, then you'll know to switch it (that happened to me as a stupid mistake, but oh well, I know better now).

My Denon asks me on the setup screen if I am using 6 or 7 speakers. I just wired for both speakers but only used one that I had sitting around until I could afford to go buy 2 matching speakers for the back.
