Hi , I was wondering about wiring my rear speakers in parallel .... I had some structured wiring put in but, some of the jacks don't work because I think some of the cables got stapled .... anyways what I was wondering is if I could run my speakers in parallel and how it would work with Dolby Digital and DTS .... I have a Yamaha Rx-V2400 ... just wondering if I could do this and what the result would be.... thanks Mike

Well, you’ll only be getting one of the rear channels in two locations, not the two separate channels it’s supposed to be. You also have to consider that combining the speakers doubles the load for that amplifier channel (i.e., two 8-ohm speakers will equal a 4-ohm load; two 4-ohm speakers will equal a 2-ohm load). Some receivers can’t handle that well.

It would be best to make the contractor come back and fix the mess he made.
