Wireless Sound (1 Viewer)

Not really a home theater construction question, but my brother wants to have wireless sound to external speakers either in addition to or as a replacement for the speakers on his 37" widescreen LCD. An employee at Best Buy's Magnolia Theater setup (not the most reliable source as far as either of us is concerned) told him that all wireless sound is AM, which is a dealbreaker, but I just don't believe that. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!
