I was under the impression that MGM had the rights to it. I hope I'm wrong as it's not likely to get a very good treatment from them.

MGM is apparently turning out a better product. See some of R. Epstein's recent reviews.

I just want someone to release this so I can watch "Faraway, So Close" in context.

Honestly fellas, I don't give a rats ass who does it. MGM, Anchor Bay or the tooth fairy. So long as it gets done.

Any word on it getting released in 2002, at all, from any studio?

Wings of Desire is perched near the top of my most-wanted list. Why must they torture us so? [IMG]

I realize that blanket MGM-bashing is something they may have, at one time brought on to themselves, but they have also done some excellent work of late.

Two recent examples are the MAD MAX & PLATOON SEs.

And more are on the way.

And they are putting out many films, WS and in many cases 16:9, and at good prices, that might never be released had they been owned

by other studio HV Depts (fill in blank).

I would expect that they will show due care when putting out WINGS OF DESIRE, which as far as Ive heard, IS coming from them.

Still, an awful taste is left by their MANON set....
