I have seen a DVD of Wings (1927) offered from China that says it is a authorized non-bootleg copy. Is this true and if so, how is the quality? It seems to be the only way to watch this first Academy Award winner on DVD.

    Thanks!
    Eric

I don't know. I just hope someone at Paramount is reading this. Listen to me: One of the movies I want more than anything [even at $100] is Wings! I beg you to release this masterpiece to the public. Buddy Rogers, Gary Cooper, Clara Bow [?], William "Wild Bill" Wellman, etc deserve to have it released. Its not a forgoten B film. This won Best Picture for crying out loud!!! Thank you. ::::::End of begging::::: [IMG]

Word on the street is that Paramount is having it digitally restored like Metropolis.

Paramount has yet to release a silent; they seem to be testing the waters with the next Ten Commandments release. Anyone who wants Wings should place an order for that set.

I'd think that Wings will come out eventually, as part of an Oscar promotion most likely. With "Cimarron" being released, "Wings" and "Cavalcade" will be the only Best Pic winners not to be released on DVD.

I thought someone posted somewhere here that Cavalcade was being released early 2006. Any word?
