So i just installed Windows 2000 on my laptop, and got things running somewhat smoothly. Slowly getting used to the drab boring look, as Ive always used WindowsXP.

I know a bunch of tweaks for XP that would make the boot up quite fast (BootVis for instance), but i notice that the bootup sequece for Win2k SEEMS (i dont know if it really is though) slower than when i ran WinXP.

So, any tips/tweaks for speeding up bootup in Win2k, or just tips in general?

    Thanks

I like to read the guides on www.tweaktown.net and pull the ones that make sense and actually seem beneficial.

    How does BootVis work?

From what i gather, bootvis monitors all the activities of your disk and CPU for a couple bootups, then it takes that and optimizes it by rearranging often-accessed system files and stuff...

Thanks for the link, ill take a look-see
