    Hey fellas,

My new PC came from Micron and I am very pleased. Every

component in the system is name brand and even the fans

are top quality (4 fans total)

I went out and bought a USB cable for my printer and it

works great, Bought a MS Intellimouse USB Explorer Optical

    and it works great too!

XP is alot better than I expected! But I can not get my

Parallel Scanner or my Parallel Zip100 drive to work..

My problem is that I have this great IBM 32 Bit Legal Size

Flatbed but it was meant for 3.1 and 95.. I went to IBM's

web site and I see absolutely no drivers for anything newer

than 98.... And I doubt they are going to make any because

they don't make scanners now.. So I guess I am going to

end up selling this mint, boxed scanner cheap so I can buy

a USB Scanner that will work (frown....)

As for the Zip, I beleive I need to change my Parallel Port

settings in the Bios.. It's currently on SPP and Iomega told

me to set it to ECP so that it transfers faster.. It's so

    slow now that it hangs...

    Any ideas?

Try the compatability wizard and install it like it is windows 98.

    Thanks fellas..

I went into the Bios and set the parallel to ECP and still

no luck with the scanner or zip drive.

I bet that 2000 drivers and running in 2000 compatibility

mode would work but I have decided I am just going to sell

my Zip Drive, Printer, Scanner and buy a LeXmark all in one

Scanner,Printer,Copier and forget the zip drive.

Zip Drives don't make any sense, media is nearly $100.00

for 1 GB worth of media (10 disks) you can buy CD-RW's for

$2.00 each, CD-R's for $30.00 per 100 disks and you can

flat out buy hard disk drives cheap.. So I can not see the

point in even owning the Zip drive anymore.

I guess I will place all this stuff (Mint Boxed) in the

Hardware for Sale section and on Ebay...
