I accidentally deleted an MPG file no more than two hours ago. Two of them that equalled 650MB's in size. They've both been on my computer for at least a week. Is there any chance I might be able to recover them if I did a system restore, or does that only restore stuff like registry files?

Thanks!

I don't thing the restore facilty works in that way, it's really meant for drivers and essential Windows XP files. You may want to try and download a undelete utility from the 'net for what you want to do.

Yea, system restore is basically if you crash the system, or if something in Windows broke. Actually it works VERY well I have found.

What you need is something like an unerase program. Norton's has one, but I have never used it.

Here is some basic system restore information from the MS Knowledge Base:

This is from the built in help files in the OS:
Restoring your computer does not affect or change your personal data files. For information about backing up personal data files, see Backing up files and folders.
