Anyone know why this title just hasn't materialised?

I remember reading a while back that Anchor Bay was releasing a Wim Wenders collection, and that this would be a part of it, but so far nothing?!?

Anchor Bay was to include it in their Wim Wenders releases, but I guess the first three titles didn't sell well, or the new Anchor Bay owners aren't interested and all the Wim Wenders titles aren't in the works anymore. They have even abandoned the 3 DVD set of UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD which they announced last year only to cancel claiming "rights issues".

It is available R2 and is on Fox Movie Classics a lot.

    Great film

Paris, Texas has just been announced from 20th Century Fox for release on December 14th.

There doesn't seem to be any extras. Retail is a low $9.98.

Just dug up a review of the austrailian release. They list it as 1.66. I still can't find out the details on the R1 release. Also of note is the following:

The Wim Wenders site lists the running time of "Paris" as 148min. The aussie dvd has a running time of 139min. Their review says that the PAL speed up can't explain that much of a difference in running time. Just thought i would throw this out for discussion.

    Any thoughts?

So the short sequel Wenders filmed a couple years ago with the original cast has disappeared?

The disc is anamorphic widescreen 1.78, has audio commentary with Wim Wenders, and deleted scenes with optional commentary. I'm not sure of the OAR.

Yes, is that the US R1 dvd? If so that would be great! But it's a $9.98 retail... Would a title coming out at that price have such special features?!

I was shocked as well when I looked at the back of the jacket and read all of the features...but they are there.

Yes, I'm talking about the U.S. R1 DVD due out today from Fox.

i didn't look for this one at any of my stops today, but i was looking for Silver Streak (another 9.98 msrp Fox title) and NO ONE had it-
the only place i could find all of 1 copy was at Wal-Mart.
while i was there they were dumping in a batch of Fox titles streeting today including Beverly Hillbillies.
i didn't see Paris Texas but i wouldn't be surprised if someone did find them there.
the price on Silver Streak, and the others, was a very easy on the wallet $5.50 (and the disc was thankfully widescreen)
