According to Bits editor Bill Hunt, one of my top 3 favorite musicals is to be released by WB "Meet Me in St. Louis". I have this title on an all CAV LD set already. I sure hope that WB presents it with a good as it gets soundtrack & with all of it's Technicolor glory intact. Happy Days!

Well, I'm not sure where on The Digital Bits website you are seeing this, as I couldn't find it.

But if it is to be released, I think you can likely safely expect a stunning presentation given Warner's recent output.

So there it is then. Way cool.
It also mentions a Blazing Saddles SE and a new Poltergeist DVD. [IMG]

Most likely along with the 50th Anniversary of "Singing in the Rain" Warner seems to release musicals in threes.

Hey Warner, when we gonna see Easter Parade, Kiss Me Kate, Finian's Rainbow or Damn Yankees?

Most definitely, I'm from the St. Louis area originally and this was always a favorite around my house. I was always disappointed at Halloween when no one made giant bonfires [IMG]
Now Warner, how about Yankee Doodle Dandy?

Definately we NEED Yankee Doodle Dandy!!! One of the greats.

James Cagney's filmography is very poorly represented on DVD.

I'm THRILLED with this news. I hope they do it justice in transfer and supplements. I never managed to get the CAV LD release.

I am a HUGE Judy Garland fan, and will definatley get "Meet Me In St. Louis" the second it comes out in stores! It is a great film, and a true classic! I also can't wait for Judy's other classic, "The Harvey Girls," on April 30th!

Hopefully they will add the tv version with Jane Powell from the late 50's, with an all star cast as an extra, along with the laserdisc documentary and recreated deleted scene.

Really, Ken? Oh wonderful! My fingers are crossed all this makes it onto the DVD, or else I shall have to go to eBay for the laser set.

This is a long sought after title for me so yes, I will be picking it up. Nice to see that it will add to the other two fine Garland, A Star is Born and OZ, of course. Though I like Judy very much, these are the three movies that I personally have ever wanted to own. Glad to see that it is coming!

I can't wait for this one, and I'm looking forward. I hope Warner does right by it.

The LD already looks and sounds spectacular. If they just used the same master we'd have a stunning DVD.
Then again...just imagine how great it would be to get the N by NW treatement...
I hope they use the stereo sound off the LD...too bad Warner won't ever do PCM or use a higher-datarate for 2.0 DD [IMG]

Very nice. Of course, we still need Easter Parade.

Easter Parade and Yankee Doodle Dandy probably need digital restoration.

Easter Parade is without its camera negative and YDD is in rough shape from the look of the TCM print.

I'd call these two good candidates for digital restoration. (Although...I don't see why Now, Voyager needed a Lowry Digital Images restoration..the TCM print looks pretty good)
