Thanks in advance.
I doubt it, not seen any Yamaha equipment with HDCD support. You could always find the specs (probably on Audioholics)
Actually, although it's not stated in the specs, the Yamaha DVD-C750 changer recognizes HDCD disks.
oh.. all CD and DVD players will play HDCD discs as if they were normal CDs. What i meant - and assumed the question asked - was if there was HDCD decoding.
Thanks for the link, Eric. I had seen it and, while it doesn't say HDCD and the machine doesn't have an HDCD insignia, one never knows.
And yes, Feisal, I'm looking for decoding capability. I have a lot of HDCD.
I'll probably end up with the 3910.
I wasn't clear enough...I meant to say that the C750 recognizes HDCD as different from CD and displays 'HDCD' instead of 'CD' on the on-screen display. I'm *assuming* this means it's doing some sort of different decoding.
Howard, that's cool.. didn't know that Yamaha supported HDCDs. Wonder why they don't advertise the fact. Maybe the 2500 does have HDCD but its an expensive experiment if they don't put it in their specs
geez.. its not in the C750 manual even?
Feisal, yea I'm surprised they don't mention it either. I don't recall seeing it anywhere in the manual.
I think part of the c750 is rebadged Phillips gear, do you happen to know if they advertise HDCD support?
Howard, not seen any Philips with HDCD support either. and neither companies are listed in HDCD.com
did someone make a copy of the Pacific Micronics decoder chip on the sly?
