I'd like to see a Special Edition of the original and a release of the second. These are two really good vampire movies. Any chance Columbia will release these?

I hear Artisan owns part 2.
I'd definitely pick up a SE of the first.[IMG]

Well Artisan's made some really good, cheap dvds (like Suicide Kings) so there's hope for that.

The sequel (Fright Night 2) definitely needs a new remastered special edition since the only version released in region 1 was nonanamorphic pan-and-scanned. I'd even pay high dollars for a superbit 2-discer for both movies now before HD arrives next year.

And speaking of vampire movies, Warner definitely needs to remaster John Landis' "Innocent Blood" in anamorphic widescreen (another favorite of mine).

Yes, FArtisan (now part of Lions Gate) released Fright Night 2 on DVD in the US, but they released it with a horrid 1.33:1 pan and scan transfer. Fright Night 2's OAR is 2.35:1.

I too would buy a superbit 2 disc set of bot films. If not please bring out a better (anamorphic) version of part 2.

Has FN2 ever been released to video properly? As I recall, even my old VHS was recorded at EP speed instead of a standard recording.

I remember when I first rented FN2 on tape back in the late 80's and it was recorded in the SP mode.
It's such a shame, FN2 is actually a quality sequel and i'd love to own it in it's anamorphically enhanced OAR.
Of course I would also spring for a SE of the original, i'd love a commentary by William Ragsdale, Stephen Geoffreys, Amanda Bearse, Jonathan Stark, Chris Sarandon and of course Tom Holland.
It would be extra cool if they could get them all together and do a video commentary, similar to The Goonies.
    I can dream, can't I? [IMG]

I wonder if Stephen Geoffreys' more recent...um..."filmography" would come up? [IMG]
I'd love an SE of this, as well. It's just a shame there'd be no Roddy McDowell. [IMG]

Is Stephen Geoffreys into porno now or something? I haven't been following his work.

Apparently he did gay porn after that- found that out looking at IMDB since I only remembered him in one other movie, Fraternity Vacation. Don't think I'll be checking out those other titles too soon, I like porn but not that kind....

I do wish they'd put out a decent version of Fright Night II since I've never seen it. Knowing Sony they'll probably reissue the first movie in foolscreen only soon.

Does any body know if Fright night "1985". Will be coming out again on Blu-Ray. Because this whole thing with, only 3000 limited edition copies seems like a joke to me. The first I hear of it & it's already gone. I grew up in the 80's & miss those movies. So if ANYONE knows if this is it. Which I find hard to believe. Because movies are alway coming out, over & over again. Where there's money to be made, why not make it lol!

TT had a three year licence, 2015 is the 30th anniversary, i'd say it's almost a sure thing that it will be re-released on blu ray in 2015.

Not for at least two+ years. The deal with Twilight was they had exclusive rights to the title for three years and only 3000 copies, then Sony can do what they want including leasing it back to Twilight for another three years and another 3000 copies. That number on engraved in stone and can not be changed.

December 2011 was the original street date for Fright Night, thus 3 year licence expires late 2014, with 2015 being an anniversary year i'd expect it then, i sure hope Lionsgate releases Fright Night Part 2 before then.
