I had a Samson S1000 Amp that i used with my SVS Ultra but it got hit by a surge. It was 500Watts at 4ohms per side. This model has been discontinued and the newer model is the SX1200. This new model is 450 Watts per side @ 4 Ohms.

Would this new amp work just as good to power my single ultra? Does the 50 watts less per side make a difference?

Not to worry. You will never notice the difference in power.
