What's the deal with this movie? Are most of us going to miss out on another excellent foreign film because because Disney (ie:Eisner) doesn't want people to know that there is better animated work than the (mostly) computer generated crap his studio puts out?

I know, maybe I'm being a bit paranoid, but there is absolutely no reason this film should not go into wide release, it's the biggest grossing film in Japanese history.

Thanks for the page. No specifics though.

We can only hope they'll do a true nationwide release. The DVD is a no brainer, but there are still films I'd like to see in the theater.

Spirited Away is opening tonight in 3 theaters here in the South Bay... and one of them is showing the Japanese w/English subtitled version. :D

Jeff, I noticed that. None of those theaters are near me.

Hopefully the third wave will be bigger.

I just saw Spirited Away at the Loews theater in Times Square in NYC, and it was Japanese with English subtitles. :emoji_thumbsup:
