Newbie question. My question is probably in the wrong section of the H/T forum.

I have a Harman Kardon AVR 120 receiver and I see that there are some movies on the Columbia House DVD Club that lists movies such as Die Hard and Terminator with "THX Sound, Enhanced". My questions is, since my receiver is not "THX", will it still play properly with Dolby Digital or DTS?

    Thanks,

    Tony

Yes it will play just fine. THX is not a sound format. Think of it as a "stamp of approval". THX was implemented as a sort of quality assurance program to improve the movie watching experience. Whether the THX on a DVD actually means the quality will be good is another question. [IMG]

Thank you very much for the clarification on what "THX" is all about!!!

Now I can go out and buy those DVDs listed with "THX"... and have no worries.

    Much appreciative guys!!!
