If I understad correctly, the 4805 is awesome but not true hi-def.

The 5000 is hi def but not DLP.

Any chance they'll have a sub-$2000 DLP Hi-Def projector soon? 'Cause that's what I'd buy!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a $2k 'Mustang' DLP (1024x576) from Infocus displayed at CES in 3 weeks. Since NEC has already introduced one at that price point.

There is a newish DLP chip, the HD3 that may provide a less expensive 1280x720 solution. It is used in RP right now but it might show up in FP within a year (raw speculation on my part).

I'm not 100% against LCD, but DLP has always had more HT followers than LCD. I've simply heard better things about DLP.

I guess I'm wondering what makes a company decide to choose one over the other...what went into the decision to make the 5000 an LCD instead of a DLP?
