Will HD-DVD at 24/196 for all six channels [for music] & compatible with "ALL" HD-DVD players, 'pass by' two Hi-Rez formats that combined fail to outsell vinyl?

I'd say the same thing about any hi-rez format and sum it in one word - "SOFTWARE." So you would have to get the various SACD/DVD-A supporters on board to issue software.

Well, software could be also said to be the problem with SACD/DVD-A.
I am just 'goofing' cause of the 'need' for new "hardware" & new "software" w/SACD/DVD-A.
As opposed to the built-in compatibility that an HD-DVD player might have.
Just think of the 'problems' to get a digital link off that puppy!

Since movie soundtracks are done in PCM these days, seems like a natural fit for an eventual HD-DVD would be MLP....

You could have High-Res (lossless compressed) audio, MPEG-4 video encoding and have incredible performance on both sides....

    Will that happen?

Heck, I don't even know if there's a market ready for HD-DVD yet [IMG]
