I'm considering buying a new Panny 5 disc changer that will double as my cd player. I have a dedicated 5 disc cd changer in another room that does random play (from within one disc or among all 5), a feature the me and the Mrs. like alot. Will DVD changers do random play? Makes sense for music, but no sense for movies, so I'm thinking they may not do random play.

    Thanks.

It should. I know my Yamaha c920 does. It is a 5 disk DVD changer and if I put in cds I can choose to do random among a single disk or all disks.

My Sony 655P does it. Great unit, I love it.

If the 5-disc Panny that you're looking at is the '72, then yes, it will perform random play. It'll do this for CD, DVD-audio, and MP3 discs.

Like Tim said above, the cp-72 does. I use it all the time for CDs.
