Is Dumbo going to be released for a limited time only? I know Snow White will be pulled from shelves by early 2002. Is it just Platinum titles they will be pulling, or a select few from all series?
I thought only the platinum series would be pulled after a year, thus Dumbo will stay in print.
In practicality, no movie stays in print forever, and all editions may be replaced, but at least there is no known plans to keep Dumbo out of print on DVD until the next format comes along.

Don't believe the Snow White hype. Disney said they were going to pull all the "Limited ISsue" DVDs too. You can STILL walk into a Blockbuster and buy "Little Mermaid" years after their so-called Moratorium date.
Maybe they are serious about SW but methinks you'll still find them a year from now or more.
It's fairly standard Disney practice to release a movie onto Home Video (whatever format) saying that it will only be available for a limited time and then it's gone. This gets people out immediately to buy the product. Once they've stopped shipping the movie out to the stores for a while, you'll see them come up with a "Back in stores for a limited time! Get your copy today before they're gone for good!"
They run this cycle a few times, so if you miss your first chance, I'd be willing to bet you'll get another.
When is Dumbo Coming out?........Wil
