I'd say it's more of a question Hollywood Pictures will license it to Criterion to release on DVD. Since there is already a DVD version availalbe, I wouldn't be very hopeful of seeing the Criterion laser disc as a Criterion DVD any time soon.

Sounds like a perfect question to ask in the upcoming Criterion chat here.

Isn't Buena Vista's licensing deal with Criterion finished?

Jun-Dai--If you're still around: it's all changed in the DVD era since the studios largely took SE production in house. We don't get a lotta Criterion DVDs on an across the board basis from a paricular studio. The Rock and Armageddon got Crit releases because Michael Bay is a big fan of Criterion, not because of any corporate deal between Disney and Criterion.
