    Hi everyone,
I have a toshiba tn50v71 rptv and a toshiba 2109 dvd player. I have been thinking about getting a new player but I don't really know if I'll get much of a performance difference being that my tv does not accept progressive scan.
I don't think I will be ugrading the tv in the near future.
Would I be stupid to buy a new generation dvd player that has progressive scan? Would it make a diff on my tv?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Josh

I don’t have progressive scan but I’m sure that will not make a difference on a TV that is not progressive scan.
As to whether or not to get a new DVD player, if you intend to get a TV that utilizes progressive scan, it wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and upgrade now. That way you could enjoy progressive scan the minute you bring home the new TV!

If you will not be upgrading the TV any time soon, there is no reason for you to get a P scan player. As technology continues to improve, wait until it will make a difference.
