Will 200 watts be too much for Paradigm Studio 20s and the Studio CC to handle? (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking of getting Studio 100s x 2, Studio 20s x 4, and a Studio CC and I was thinking about pairing them with the Outlaw 770 and using my Sony DA5ES as a pre/pro. Will 200 watts be to much for the smaller speakers to handle?

Thanks,

James

No.

Sorry, I am tired and can't elaborate, but believe me that is the correct answer.

Hey James,
I have studio 40's, 20's and CC. Torn between getting another set of 20's or ADP's. I notice on your website you mention 4 ADP's vs the 20's you mention here. I would like to know more about your decision to go with 4 - 20's. If you want to take this "off-line" I could be emailed at [email protected]
Thanks,
Ed

James,

I use the Studio 20's v.2 powered by a 200w Cinepro amp and they sound great! The Cinepro is very powerful and has bursts of double its 200w rated power (3.5db headroom).. I watch at just under reference levels as well and have never had a problem. Hope this helps.

Edward,

First thanks for checking out my website. It actually needs to be updated though, I have my new speakers (Monitor 11s, CC-370, Mini Monitors x 4). The reason I went with the Mini Monitors and eventually the Studio 20s is because of placement issues. As I'm sure you have heard, speaker placement is much more critical when using bipolar/dipolar speakers. Since I will be moving in Decemeber to an apartment that I haven't even seen yet, I wanted to buy speakers that were more forgiving when it comes to speaker placement. I have direct radiating speakers now and I'm happy with them, and if it's good enough for the movie theaters, it's good enough for me. If you room is conducive to using the ADPs I would say try to audition both to find out which ones you like.

James
