    Hello

I want to buy some musical dvd´s with great picture quality to my new plasma but I´ve noticed that most live concert dvd´s are 4:3 fullscreen .

    So ...

I need your help and the experts recommendations in the following matter:

Which are the best live concerts dvd´s whose image, and this detail is very important, is Widescreen Anamorphic?

    thanks in advance

    Three suggestions for you:

The Who & Special Friends Live at Royal Albert Hall: GREAT performances, great sound, good anamorphic video.

Diana Krall Live in Paris: Ditto.

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense: A classic.

Obviously, depends on your music tastes, but the above are both anamorphic widescreen sourced from Hi-Def masters and look very good. I highly recommend the Alison Krauss one, even if you think you don't care for Bluegrass. I became a fan.

Personally, I've been somewhat spoiled of late by watching some concerts in true HDTV on cable, on channels like INHD and PBS (Soundstage). Makes the DVDs pale in comparison. Bring on Blu-ray/HD-DVD!

The two Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band concert DVDs (Live in NYC and Live in Barcelona) have anamorphic video. They were shot in hi-def, and the video was futzed with a bit to look more film-like. This makes some of the close-ups vs. long shots a bit inconsistent in appearance, but they are generally quite good.

Other good candidates not yet mentioned:

    The Concert for George
    R.E.M. - Perfect Square
    Down from the Mountain

The documentary "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" has anamorphic video and great A/V quality for its concert sequences.

The London Twickenham Stadium show in the Rolling Stones' "Four Flicks" box is 16:9 anamorphic and of excellent quality. The New York and Paris gigs are 4:3, though.

    Regards,
