OK... I am going to ask this question even though most of you will laugh [ok so all of you will laugh] I bought a new rca widescreen tv and I thought if I hook it to my digital dsx5500 sat. box I should get stereo. I can only get mono. Do I have to have some hookup? Why can't stereo just come through the tv? Ok quit laughing and help me please!

let me guess your watching through channel 3 right, if so change that since coax won't carry a stereo signal (unless it's encoded like otr broadcast) use the composite video or s video and 2 audio cables. If hooked up correctly, are you sure the channel is stereo (most of the comcast channels I get in Mobile are mono with no box)

The info in this link should help. It refers to VCRs, but it equally applies to satellite receivers.
