i need to know why Sony DVD players have better picture quality than Pioneer DVD player ???
is there a resolution in DVD players ???
i have old Sony DVD players and Pioneer DV 636 and i played the same movie in each and i got a god picture in Sony.

i know that Pioneer DVD players have Horizontal Reolution (Lines) between 500 - 540.
so what about the Sony DVD Players ??

MS- It's funny, because most of the reviews I've seen note the opposite:

Pioneer has better picture quality but Sony's have better sound. (I'm talking Pioneer Elite and Sony ES, generally.)

Might just be the players you have, how your system is setup, etc.
