I'll believe it when I see it. According to this page, roster update #3 was supposed to be released yesterday. They've had release dates for all 3 supposed roster updates, but not a single one has actually been met. Not sure what the issue is, but it's rather annoying...

They're still testing stuff for downloading with xbox live. They want to make sure it works properly before putting them up and then having half the people get them and not be able to play the other half. Like Joel said, Patience.

Shouldn't they have tested stuff during the beta of xbox live? Isn't that what a beta is for? If a company says they are going to have certain downloads available by certain dates, then they should, simple as that.

Its not as simple as that. They had bigger bugs to fry in beta, mainly divergence errors and ways to stop griefers. Divergence errors in beta would happen whenever you played someone that was using a different sound setting than you. These will come and they will be done right. I would rather say screw the given release dates if it means the stuff will work right out of the box. This goes for any game. The sell now patch later philosophy sucks and is practiced far to often by the gaming world.

I think what is causing the rancor is not that downloads haven't been available, but that they've been announced and then reneged upon. (Did I spell that right? "Renege"?)
We did test the download feature in the beta; we all downloaded a file to our hard drives. It didn't make any changes, but the functionality of checking for a download and then d/l'ing it and saving it to the hard drive was tested.
At any rate, I'm curious to see what's included when we do finally get a real download. It's just roster updates, right? No new functionality or anything? Maybe they could include a little kryptonite so that my poor linebackers can bring down Bettis or Dillon? [IMG]

The divergence errors are greatly reduced now. Before you were almost guaranteed to get one if you had different audio settings. Since release I've had one and I'm again running with dolby digital enabled. I'll try to find the annonucement from sega about this.

During the beta, I was able to download one roster update.
It's still sitting on my Xbox HD actually.
As far as I can tell there haven't been any more updates since that one.

I wonder what kind of effect it would have on the system for trying to match two consoles with different rosters to a single game. My only online console experience was with the Dreamcast via dialup and they only allowed original rosters for online play, no created or updated characters allowed.

    Carl,

I think it's the same way for NFL2K3. I don't think it lets you use the updated rpsters for online play.

I've ready several times on FGO and operationsports that the downloaded rosters would be used. I believe they were links from segas site. I need to do some searching and find these.
