I know "politics" is a taboo topic around here...but dammit, this is simple justice.
I'm American and I see a US flag at the top of this page.
If saying "Hell ya" to justice is against the rules...so be it!
Hell ya!

The link to the following guidelines set by Ron and Parker is located at the top of the After Hours Page.

We have had enough!

Though we are truly shocked and sympathetic over the cowardly acts of terrorism that occured on September 11th, we have decided to LIMIT discussion of the events or aftermaths on this board.

Initially, we did allow our members to use this forum to help communicate their grief to each other. However, as usual, there are always the few that ruin it for everyone else.

Our Moderators have been working overtime these past few days editing and closing down threads that start off with civil discussion, but ultimately someone has to interject politics and/or religion into the thread.

We even had a death thread from some nitwit that didn't agree with another member.

We just cannot continue to concentrate our efforts in maintaining this area of Home Theater Forum. There are other board specifically designed for this type of discussion.

THE GUIDELINES ARE FOLLOWS....
[*]All discussion pertaining to the tragedy must remain on topic.
[*]Do not discuss how the United States should retaliate or respond to this tragedy nor your personal beliefs regarding accountability.
[*]Racist comments will result in your membership being removed.
[*]Please direct any complaints or comments about thread violations to the MODERATORS of the forum -- NOT THE OWNERS. The Moderators are monitoring this area. Emails sent to the owners will not get responded to as efficiently as those to the Moderators.

Robert,
I see nothing in the guidelines that you just posted that pertains to the threads you closed.

Do not discuss how the United States should retaliate or respond to this tragedy nor your personal beliefs regarding accountability.
Furthermore, I've contacted the owners regarding their policy. Shortly, we will know if any discussion about the retaliation strikes will be permitted on the forum.

I didn't see anybody suggesting how we should respond. They were just reporting the facts not their opinions. IMHO.

This retaliation situation cannot be discussed
without people interjecting their own personal
opinions.
I prefer this not be discussed in the forum and
will most likely opt to ban such discussion.

I originated one of the threads. I posted that as I was in this very forum when the breaking news came in. But I can understand the owners motives, any discussion of this kind is likely to degenerate very quickly. After all, this forum is not limited to just americans - I am not one myself.

I had to work all day and was looking forward to getting home and seeing other HTF members' thoughts on the strikes. I figured something was up as soon as I entered the AHL and didn't see any threads on the topic. But, Ron is right - I can see how easily discussion on this topic could get out of hand. Ah well, no biggie...

He thought on homeland, the big timber, the air thin and chill all the year long. Tulip poplars so big through the trunk they put you in mind of locomotives set on end. He thought of getting home and building him a cabin on Cold Mountain so high that not a soul but the nighthawks passing across the clouds in autumn could hear his sad cry. Of living a life so quiet he would not need ears. And if Ada would go with him, there might be the hope, so far off in the distance he did not even really see it, that in time his despair might be honed off to a point so fine and thin that it would be nearly the same as vanishing.
