Is it some Japlish thing(In Japanese, it would be Game Cube no Nintendo, or Game Cube of Nintendo)? Shouldn't it be NGC?

I was always wondering that myself, and I just decided that Nintendo is trying to mess with our heads so I continued to call it NGC.

I do believe it has something to do with the fact that someone else already has the copyright to the acronym "NGC", so Nintendo is stuck with GCN as the official acronym for its next-gen system.

I think thats how it works. Something to do with Japanese (the language) or something.

Also, NGC might get confused with a competitor handheld product.
