This is unprecedented in the history of television.
Or is it? I can't think of another series that went more than a month between new episodes.
The show has been very good this year. It will be hard to wait until January.
At least there will be new episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in september.
As for tonights episode - I think Carrie is full of it. The series will end when her and Big get married.

i think it was a great way to do it. this part leaves you hanging a bit to see what will happen with the engagement and big and doesn't make you wait over a year to find out like the Sopranos!
plus, they have the war mini-series starting in September, and the new comedy show I just saw tonight looked funny as well.
sure makes it hard to cancel HBO when they have all the best programming!

I read the shortened season was due to the impending writer's strike earlier in the year, and by the time it was settled, some of the leads (like SJP) signed up doing theatrical plays in the summer/fall.

This happened with LEXX last season. The first five episodes of the season are shown and then there is a 4 month hiatus until the remainder. Don't exactly like Sci-Fi Channel.

South Park does it all the time. We have to wait until November for the last 4 episodes of this season. Basic and Pay cable do not follow the mid September to end of May TV season formula, which if you think about it is good because that means there's something new on almost every week.
I wish the networks would follow suit and be more creative with scheduling. They are such slaves to the Novembr, February, and May sweeps.

The production company is taking over part of the Condé Nast building this weekend. My wife works in the building (though not for Condé Nast), and there were signs all over when she left work yesterday. I remember reading that the writers wanted to set a scene in the editorial offices of Vogue.

I wonder how September 11th will be dealt with in the show.

I won't be able to watch it as my satelite is not up and running.

All six new episodes were scripted and shot before 9/11. If there's any reference at all, I doubt it will be within the show itself.

Ah, it was great seeing new episodes of this excellent show tonight. It was a good episode too (not that there's been a bad one so far).

I missed it! I even recorded the marathon on New Year's because I missed season 3. When will yesterday's episode be repeated?

The episode last night really hit home with the way Carrie and Adian were fighting, as me and my fiance have been doing that for the past month as we are living in one room out of her mom and stepdads house while our new house is getting remodeled. Can't wait until next week.

As for Carrie and Adian getting married I think that this is a great plot line and hopefully it will happen as I love the Adian character and the way he contrast Carrie. I love this show!!!

Stargate SG-1 won't have a new Episode till March, almost 5 MONTHS between the first and second half of season 5. Thank goodness for the UK and the Internet [IMG]

The only 9/11 "reference" I noted was the removal of the WTC from the opening credits, which seems like a reasonable thing to do to me.

The opening just doesn't seem right to me having the two or three shots of the WTC taken out.....I really wish they would have left them in, to me that seems to be the right thing to do.

I'm hoping season five will feature an all-new credit sequence, since the altered sequence does feel "off."

Not to get into a massive political debate, but I do understand not wanting to show the towers in new episodes going forward.

Now, going back and changing pre-9/11 episodes is a whole different kettle of fish (not that I've heard anything to that effect for this show).
