Why is Gosford Park Rated R? (1 Viewer)

I was thinking about this film today then the question came to me... why is this film rated R? There are no swear words, the murder isn't bloody, and there's nothing that really makes it R.

I guess they didn't want kids under 18 seeing the film because they would get bored easily.

I remember at least one sex scene involving one of the housemaids. No nudity, but the activity is fairly explicit. That's probably enough right there.

BTW, I agree with Michael in regard to why it's rated R. A tame R but definitely deserved.

Yup, you can have bunnies in a field for 2 hours, but if you drop the F bomb more than 4 times or so it's R

Gee, how many 6 year olds know that word? I'd say, oh about 95%
