Why is Criterion using the OOP Seven Samurai DVD cover for the Kurasawa boxed set? (1 Viewer)

After getting the Kurasawa Samurai collection by Criterion, I noticed that the box art for Seven Samurai is the same used on the original OOP edition. I compared the box with my brother's, and sure enough, my "Seven Samurai" title is smaller on the back, the front cover looks grainer and there is no NTSC Region 1 identification.
However, the disc itself appears to be the 2nd pressing, without the restoration demonstration. :frowning: Is there any reason that Criteron would use the OOP box art for the boxed set?

They probably had a bunch left after the 1st pressing stopped. Probably just trying to get rid of the old supply.

I just received the box set, and my copy of Samurai actually says First Pressing 1998 on the back of it. Albeit with no restoration demonstration.
