Why hasn't Columbia released "Forbidden Dance"? (1 Viewer)

I was watching this the other day, and remembered what a great movie it is. Why on earth hasn't Columbia released it on DVD yet?

Not to be confused with MGM's "Lambada" which was released a month or two ago.

This movie stars Laura Herring & Jeff James. Great music, great dancing and all around great movie!

It would have been amausing if they released it the same day as the WB LAMBADA DVD, since there was a big to-do about both films opening in theaters the same day... and bombing!

Which one did "The Forbidden Dance"? Golan or Globus?

You're acting as if I were talking about "Battlefield Earth!" I mean, this is no "Moulin Rouge" by any stretch of the imagination, but it's just as entertaining!

Supreme irony: MGM now owns THE FORBIDDEN DANCE as well as LAMBADA!

Provided the lovely Laura Elena Harring does another high profile film, and some distance is established from LAMBADA: THE MOVIE, I'm sure there will be a DVD.

If only Greydon Clark could do a commentary about how fast he had to make the film.

OMG! I can't believe I got my wish! Columbia is *FINALLY* releasing this film with an ANAMORPHIC TRANSFER on 9/30! I wonder if my thread had anything to do with it? Maybe they found that someone WOULD actually buy it
