I noticed that depending on which studio the disc is from the longer or shorter it takes for the disc to load.

Why is this? Does it have to do with the amount of content stored on the disc?

Fox and Disney titles take the longest i've noticed but with Disney you get animated loading icons like the spinning Piston Cup on the Cars BD.

I'm still learning all the in's and out's of BD and am curious about this.

Thanks. :emoji_thumbsup:

Depends on if the disc uses BD-Java encoding, and if it does, just how fancy that encoding is. Disney and Fox like the bells and whistles of BD-Java menus, hence the longer load times. Warner, on the other hand, likes things streamlined, and only uses BD-Java encoding when they have a special feature that uses it (Picture-in-Picture commentary, for example).

No problems with loading if you are using PS3 or HTPC, but on stand alone players aside from frequent FW updates, yikes!

Check out Universal Blu-ray discs, no fuss no muss, quick to the point

Thanks, that makes sense, not that I was complaining about it because I have no problem with the load times, I was just curious that's all.

I am wondering, though, why do they load quicker on a PS3 than they do on a stand alone player?
